MODEL provides a dedicated viewer to display the output of Dislocation Dynamics simulations. The viewer, based on OpenGL and GLUT, is extremely portable and should work on most architectures.

Compiling the viewer

The same Makefile used to compile DDserial (or DDparallel) is also used to compile the Dislocation Dynamics viewer (DDviewer). To do this simply issue the command:

make viewer

This creates the executable DDviewer, which you can run by calling:

./DDviewer

DDviewer reads the output files produced by DDserial(DDparallel). In fact, upon lunching the DDviewer, your terminal will display the output files available for visualization.
